After living in NYC for over a decade, I’ve made it a hobby to enjoy many different types of restaurants. New York City is a small city (as far as size goes), but in the small city it sure has many options. In this guide, I’ll share with you some of my favorite places to eat and enjoy a night out.
One of the best sushi places, is Sushi of Gari. They have a location on the Upper East Side and one midtown west, located near the theaters. The sushi is extremely creative and the fish is as fresh as it gets.

As a foodie living in Murray Hill (which consists of the East 30’s in NYC), I felt the need to share some of the areas best places to grab a bite or take home some grub. There are so many different places to choose from and if you’re not familiar with the neighborhood, you may end up wasting your time on something average.
Let’s start with Japanese food. Chado Sushi has recently opened in the area and is superb. Unfortunately, it is expensive but it’s darn tasty! The partner/executive chef formerly worked at Sushi of Gari, which is one of the best in NYC. So by no surprise, expect great things. They’re known for their sauces they use and their Omikase, so take a chance and try out whatever the chef suggests.

Enjoy a seat on the balcony for a great atmosphere of stars and lights with a late night dinner or you may prefer a quiet, formal dinner indoors at the DownTown Grill. The DownTown Grill offers much desired southern dishes such as DownTown’s fried green tomatoes, which are topped with green onions, crawfish tails and mushrooms and then served with a side dish of spicy Creole sauce. Try some of their award winning recipe items such as the Catfish Lafitte.
